Meeting The Needs Of Subway Travellers

Subway travel has become quite commonplace in most large metropolitan city of the world. This has a rich history that dates back to 1863, when the first subway (underground) was launched in the city of London. From that time on till now, the spread of the subway network in many continents (Americas, Europe and also Asia) bears ample testimony to the popularity and great utility of subways as a convenient means of modern urban transport. The reasons for this are not hard to see as subways are non polluting, fast as well as extremely reliable in addition to being comfortable too, zipping by below or above the ground and also on elevated tracks, thus cheating the normal and stifling city traffic.

Subway companies are always looking out for ways and means to ensure that subway travel for commuters becomes a comfortable and enjoyable experience. When there is so much competition among competing modes of intra-city transport, something as simple as installing cup holders in subways can also go a long way in bringing about some succor and comfort to commuters who happen to be quite a harried lot in this day and age. Rushing to work and back from the office, people may spend less than a couple of minutes to as much as half an hour or so on the subway, during which cup holders could come in handy.

When traveling by the subway, it would help if one had the services of a cup holder to carry some coffee or some other beverage that one might have picked up at the subway station on the way to the subway train. Sometimes subways can sway wildly from side to side, which means that without the cup holder there is a serious chance of the contents of one’s cup to spill over and create a real mess. Given the crowd in the subway, this is certainly not ideal at all.

Using cup holders has become quite easy nowadays because these come with suitable Velcro technology and easy fasteners that can be used without much fuss. One does not need to spend too much time trying to figure out how to fix the cup holders.

Sometimes commuter activism jolts authorities out of a rather languorous stupor that they slink into, in terms of commuter amenities. This is why sometimes the authorities have to be reminded to provide cup holders for the comfort of commuters.

Ty Summers is a daily commuter and since he writes about a wheelchair cup holder, especially how it relates to mobility accessories, he is actively trying to get more transit authorities to include the small conveniences for daily passengers.
